After several attempts, we finally made it to the Curwood Property. This property is very remote and the drive in is very scenic... we passed a couple waterfalls and nice rivers on the way. I would recommend a four wheel drive vehicle before attempting to access this property. Once we got to the property we quickly realized that our efforts were well worth it! This parcel is located in one of the most secluded portions of the UP and signs of wildlife were everywhere. We had to walk-in to this 40 from the road, but it was one of the best walks in recent memory. We did not see or hear anything but nature. The path we followed was an old woods road that has not been used in quite some time. It made a great trail and led directly to the property you are interested in. The topography and lay of the land was fantastic. There are several very nice ridges and valleys, with mature trees throughout. It was also nice to see many rock outcroppings and a good mix of pines and hardwoods. The land really has everything one could ask for. The water flowing through the central portion of the property was absolutely beautiful! We were very impressed with the quality of the stream and the whole surrounding areas. The stream was much wider and deeper than I had anticipated. Of course, this is the time of year when water levels would be highest. The stream areas were especially nice since they were surrounded by high ridges to the north and south. We had very high hopes of spotting a moose while were we walking around, but no luck (this time). We did see many signs of deer and bear, all sorts of birds and waterfowl, grouse, beaver, squirrels, etc. I believe this property is a perfect fit for what you are looking for. The other good news is that we were clearly the first folks to get to this parcel this year (no other tracks on the trail). So, no logging has taken place yet, though they may not be far behind. Take a look at the pictures and videos and you will see that this is very nice acreage. I can't wait to see this property in fall colors!
